RV Camp Cooking Gear.

RV Camp Cooking:

Camping in an RV, or a travel trailer of some kind, is great fun for some and kind of sacrilegious to others.

But, whatever your style of camping is, it is undeniable that camp cooking is much easier for the camper using a travel trailer or RV.

Most camper units have refrigerators, stoves, and microwaves. Just like home. And of course with RV camp cooking they have electricity to power the coffee maker, toaster and computer too.

Many campgrounds have Wi-Fi now also. So, even those homebodies can camp today and be comfortable surfing the web in air conditioned comfort while camping in the wild!

So, camping can have all the comforts of home. This goes for camp cooking as well. All the options we have at home we can have while camping.

That being said, it may still be a good idea to examine the itinerary for the trip and decide whether food will be part of the fun or, fuel for the fun.

Kayaking might require lots of high  energy foods.

If meals are designed to keep people full of energy and on the run perhaps some pre-made or packaged meals might be a good option.

Anything quick, easy and nutritious might fit the bill.

The AACG store has a great selection of Camping ready food items.

If cooking meals will be part of the fun, and a person wants to spend some extra time preparing them, then the sky is the limit.

Camping cookware for this type of camping can be anything used at home. Pots, pans, stock pots, regular dishes and plates etc...

If the RV is a small one then maybe the camping cookware will need to be scaled down a bit.

The great thing is, not only can a person cook like at home, there is also the option of open fire cooking as long as fires are OK in the campground.

There really is not much to tell here about special camping cookware when it comes to RV and travel trailer camping.

If it can be done at home it can be done while camping.

Just be careful of size and room if the camper is small.

Just for kicks, a person might consider a ‘pie iron’.

There are so many great things you can do with these over an open fire. They are great for getting the whole family to take part in the cooking.

And, they will have a great time doing it. See our soon to come camping recipes page for more.
